Arena Season

The last arena season ended as scheduled on November 30th, 2014,
and the data regarding the arena have been reset.

Unfortunately, no team qualified for the prizes.

Therefore, besides another lowering of the rating limits
there will also be a new regulation for a
dynamic end in the new arena season:

The new arena season has a minimum term of 3 months and
will end to the end of the month, in which
at least 3 arena teams of one team size reached the
needed rating limits.

Start of the new arena season is on December 7th, 2014, at 4 o’clock p.m.

The award distribution will be determined with respect to the team rating . The first five ranks , regardless of the team size, will be identified by the highest team rating of all teams of this team size

However, there is another long list of conditions, which have to be fulfilled to qualify for a prize. Primarily, the focus is on ensuring a real competition, which shall then be rewarded appropriately.

  • Rating Limit ( New: limits have been adjusted!)
    This season as well, we use rating limits for the award distribution. Only teams above this limit may qualify for a prize.
    This ensures that someone does not simply create a 5vs5 team, does three games and wants to be rewarded for that, when on the other hand a 2vs2 team had to do hundreds of game for the same prize. Effectively, we want to create comparativeness between the separate team sizes.
    2vs2 : 1600 rating
    3vs3 : 1200 rating
    5vs5 : 900 rating

  • Activity Limit
    A player must have been part of at least 30% of the team games to be qualified for a prize.
    This prevents from pulling secondary characters through the team, who do not actively contribute to the success of the team.

  • Double ranking
    If double ranking will occur, only the higher-order rank will be rewarded. Within a rank for a team size the double rank check will be done on a personal basis. Across team sizes the check will be done on a character basis.

    Example 1:
    Player X came second with character Y in 2vs2. Additionally, player X came fourth with character Z in 2vs2, too. In this case, only character Y will be rewarded, as within the placing of a team size it involves the same player.

    Example 2:
    Player X came second with character Y in 2vs2. Furthermore, player X came fourth with character Y in 3vs3. In this case, character Y will only get the higher-order reward regarding the second place in 2vs2, as it involves the same character across team sizes.

    Example 3:
    Player X came second with character Y in 2vs2. In addition to that, player X came fourth with character Z in 3vs3. In this case, both characters will be rewarded.

  • Moving up along the ranking
    Should a team due to the upper mentioned conditions be completely excluded from the ranking, there is a possibility for other teams (with a lower rating but meeting the conditions) to move up in the ranking.
    If there is a double occupancy of a rank, no team will move up for this one.

Now we come to the rewards:

As there was no winner in the last arena season,
this season, we also play for the title “Deadly Gladiator”.

The rewards will be distributed within all team sizes on the basis of the criteria mentioned above:
